In a double-wishbone suspension structure, the upper control arm and lower control arm are two hinged connecting rods that connect the steering knuckle to the frame (subframe). The lower control arm is larger in size and is the main load-bearing component — the lower support point of the spring or shock absorber strut rests on it, and most of the loads during cornering and braking are borne by it; the upper control arm is lighter, mainly responsible for controlling the wheel camber angle during suspension up and down movement.
When the lower control arm fails, the most common symptoms are: abnormal noise when going over bumps, vehicle pulling to one side, and uneven tire wear. If you find that the tire inner or outer edge is wearing abnormally fast, or there is a "clunking" sound from the front of the car when going over speed bumps, it is likely that the lower control arm ball joint or bushing has failed.
When replacing the lower control arm, it is recommended to replace the left and right sides simultaneously. Because the control arm is a safety component, if one side fails, the other side is usually also close to the end of its service life. At the same time, it is recommended to do a four-wheel alignment after replacement to ensure the vehicle's driving stability and safety.
Hetian Automotive's control arm products use high-strength aluminum alloy forging process, with product precision and durability reaching industry-leading levels. All products have passed IATF16949 quality management system certification, providing one-year quality warranty.
