In mid-2026, the EU's REACH compliance requirements for automotive components have significantly tightened: starting from July 1, 2026, replacement rubber parts exported to the EU for heavy trucks — suspension bushings, oil seals, tire assemblies are explicitly named — must be accompanied by SVHC declarations, verified by EU authorized representatives before uploading to the SCIP database.
REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) is the EU's chemical management regulation, aiming to protect human health and the environment. For automotive component suppliers, REACH compliance means that products must not contain restricted substances above specified thresholds, and relevant declarations must be provided.
For component suppliers exporting to the EU, it is necessary to ensure that products comply with the latest REACH requirements. This includes: checking whether raw materials contain SVHC substances, providing SVHC declarations, ensuring products meet EU restricted substance requirements, and uploading product information to the SCIP database.
